The name Chandra is derived from Chandragupta Maurya, who visited this site around 300 BC in search of spiritual relief with Shruthakevali Bhadrababhu. In Hindu religion there is also the belief that Lord Shiva roamed carrying the body of Sati Devi and her head fell at the location of present-day Chandragiri.
Besides the history, in 2016 Cable Car was introduced. With the introduction of the cable car, the influx of visitors increases significantly. Talking about the tour, the first sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley includes places like Jalnarayan, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhunath Temple, Boudhanath, and many more.
