Langtang is in north side of Kathmandu valley. This trek area covers the rhododendron and bamboo forest with an abundance of wildlife, majestic waterfalls and snow coverd white mountains. Langtang regions is close to the tibet. So the trek offers colorful culture, religion and tradition of Tibetan origin ethnic group, also the ancient Buddhist monastery and glaciers in Langtang. Langtang is also famous for the producer of yak cheese. Many people says that Langtang valley trek is the valley of the glaciers.

 

Now something about the Gosaikunda, Gosaikunda is the one of the famous religious sight. Many people believes that once you in the holy lake all your pain, sorrows and sins will be washed off. There is two beautiful lakes Bhairavkunda and Naagkunda. Most of the people visit there to washed their disease.

It is believed that to save universe lord shiva drank poison extracted from the sea, his throat start to burn and then he hits his Trisul in the hill to release water, then the water starts to flow. That's why people used to called that river Trishuli. People believes that lord shiva is still in Gosaikunda.

 

From Kathmandu, you drive to Syabrubesi, a Tamang village, from where the trek into the serene Langtang Valley starts. You will be walking through lush forests of rhododendron and bamboo up through yak pastures to arrive at Lama Hotel. 

 

The trail continues to ascend to Langtang Village, where you get to experience the hospitality and friendliness of the Tamangs, whose culture is closely related to the Tibetans. The area presents immense views of the snow-capped mountains, and the Langtang Lirung rises majestically above the valley to an altitude of 7,227 meters.

 

The journey continues, reaching Kyanjin Gompa, which is a secluded monastery lying inside the Langtang Valley. This is where your acclimatization will entail taking in views of the panorama of peaks that surround you. If you happen to have this as a rest day, definitely consider hiking to Langshisha Kharka or visiting the local yak cheese factory. From Kyanjin Gompa onwards, it's a downhill hike through the valley as you make your way to Thulo Syabru and climb up to Sing Gompa.

 

Trek from Sing Gompa follows the route to holy Gosaikunda Lake, which happens to be a very important religious site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Actually, it's a pilgrimage site and especially during the month of August when Janai Purnima falls.

 

 It becomes the highlight of the trek-the stunning views around the lake, the serenity of the surroundings. From the lake, one goes further onto Lauribina Pass, the highest point of the trek at 4,610 meters, and down to the picturesque Dhunche Bazaar.
